Pedestrian Struck and Critically Injured by Vehicle at South Tacoma Way

 
TACOMA, WA (December 5, 2018) – Early Tuesday morning, one person was injured in a pedestrian accident on 74th Street. The victim was only identified as a 44-year-old man. His name and place of residence were not immediately shared with the public.
 
According to reports, the collision took place around 6:30 AM at South Tacoma Way. Officers and medics arrived at the scene to find the male pedestrian suffering from life-threatening injuries. He was transported to the hospital, but there is no update on his current medical condition.
 
The driver of the vehicle, described to be a man in his mid-40s, was also taken to a local hospital with unidentified injuries. Preliminary investigation revealed that the pedestrian was walking across the street when he was struck by the vehicle, which had a green light.
 
The intersection where the incident occurred was shut down after the collision, for cleanup operations and further investigation. No additional details have been disclosed at this time.
