Motor Scooter Rider Hospitalized after Collision near West Figueroa Street

 
SANTA BARBARA, CA (December 14, 2018) – A man was injured Friday afternoon following a motor scooter accident on De La Vina Street. The identity of the victim was not immediately disclosed to the public.
 
According to the Santa Barbara City Fire Department, the incident happened near West Figueroa Street, shortly after noon. A motor scooter was traveling south when it was struck by a sedan that attempted to make a left turn.
 
The impact of the collision ejected the rider from the scooter, causing minor to moderate injuries. He was transported to Santa Barbara Cottage Hospital for treatment and evaluation. Further updates on his current medical condition were not immediately available.
 
It is unknown whether or not the sedan driver remained at the scene after the crash, which remains under investigation. Additional information will be released once it becomes available.
