James Adams Arrested in Elko Car Crash
Elko, NV (September 24, 2020) – On Sunday, a man was injured, while police arrested 44-year-old James Adams of Elko in a crash on Fifth Street and Silver Street.
An Elko Police report said an officer arrived after 7 p.m. to the accident scene. Upon arrival, he located a white Mazda with damage on the driver’s side of the vehicle. Also, he found a man in the driver’s seat bleeding and unconscious.
Moreover, there was also an unoccupied Pontiac. It was damaged on the passenger side.
Shortly, the Pontiac owner learned about the accident and arrived at the scene. He called 911 when he saw the driver of the Mazda and realized no one was called.
He told police that Adams left the scene in the car the Pontiac’s owner arrived in.
Moreover, Adams returned to the accident. He told the authorities he had a nine-year-old girl in the Pontiac with him at the time of the accident, who became hysterical.
Also, he admitted leaving the scene using another vehicle to take the child home to her mother. According to him, he did not call 911 because the child was too hysterical at the moment.
Authorities charged Adams with one count of duty to stop at the scene of an accident and driving without a driver’s license. His bail was set at $100,195.
In a word, practice safe driving habits on the road at all times… even when it is empty, even when there is no police officer around to make sure you make a full and complete stop.
