Man Riding Scooter Injured in Accident on Pershing Drive near Morley Field

 
BALBOA PARK, CA (July 20, 2019) – A 33-year-old man suffered injuries in a scooter accident on Pershing Drive, early Saturday morning.
 
According to the San Diego Police Department, the incident happened near Morley Field, at about 2:00 AM. The victim was riding along the dark street when a red sedan hit him. The impact sent the rider flying up onto the hood, cracking the car’s windshield.
 
The driver of the sedan stopped and immediately called for help. A few moments later, paramedics arrived and treated the rider’s injuries before transporting him to a hospital. As per reports, the rider is expected to recover soon.
 
Investigators ruled out alcohol or drugs as factors in the accident. Additional information will be released once it becomes available.
