Man Injured in Motorcycle Accident on Towne Centre Drive Near Nobel Drive [San Diego, CA]

Rider Hurt in San Diego Motorcycle Crash With Driver

 
SAN DIEGO, CA (July 26, 2019) – A motorcyclist suffered injuries in Wednesday’s motorcycle accident on Towne Centre Drive, near Nobel Drive.
 
According to San Diego police Officer Robert Heims, the incident happened around 4:25 p.m. A 58-year-old man operating a 2016 Harley-Davidson southbound along Towne Center Drive collided with a southbound 2011 Lexus sedan.
 
Heims reported that the driver of the Lexus attempted a U-turn from the right lane and crossed into the path of the oncoming rider.
 
Following the accident, the 58-year-old man was brought to a nearby hospital with a fractured pelvis and leg.
 
Meanwhile, the 24-year-old woman remained at the scene and cooperated with police investigators. Alcohol and drugs do not appear to be factors contributing to the crash.
 
The surrounding area was closed off for a brief time while crews worked to clear the wreckage. However, the roadway has since reopened to traffic.
