60-Year-Old Columbia Man Hospitalized After Crash on West Broadway in Columbia

Columbia, MO (November 8, 2024) – A two-vehicle crash on West Broadway in Columbia Thursday afternoon seriously injured a 60-year-old Columbia man.

According to a news release from the Columbia Police Department, officers responded to the crash near Heather Lane at approximately 2 p.m. 

Investigators determined the man was driving a moped westbound on West Broadway when he entered a passing lane and collided with a vehicle driven by a 26-year-old Columbia woman.

Police reported that the man, who was not wearing a helmet, was ejected from the moped and sustained life-threatening injuries. 

Emergency responders transported him to a local hospital for treatment.

The woman driving the other vehicle was uninjured in the crash, according to authorities. 

The investigation remains ongoing.
