Pedestrian Critically Injured in El Cajon Car Accident

 
EL CAJON, CA (March 17, 2019) – A 48-year-old man was struck and critically injured by a hit-and-run driver Sunday night on Greenfield Drive.
 
California Highway Patrol Officer Travis Garrow reported the collision occurred around 10:00 PM on Greenfield Drive near Lyons Lane.
 
A gray sedan traveling eastbound on Greenfield Drive hit the unidentified man. Officials stated the victim was crossing the southbound side of the street and continued walking eastbound before being struck. Soon after, the driver then fled the scene.
 
First responders arrived immediately after and transported the victim to Sharp Memorial Hospital after sustaining serious injuries. The status on his current condition has not been released.
 
The suspect has not been identified as of this report. Police are asking anyone with information to call the CHP at (619) 401-2000. There has been no further information released regarding the circumstances leading up to the case as the investigation continues.
