1 Hurt in San Francisco Car Accident

SAN FRANCISCO, CA (December 7, 2018) – A male driver sustained injuries following a collision involving a big rig on December 5.

Due to the big-rig being jackknifed, the traffic was snarled for hours on every path to the Bay Bridge.

The incident was reported on eastbound Highway 80 just east of The Embarcadero about 11:30 a.m.

According to reports, the three left lanes of the eastbound Bay Bridge were shut down just east of the First Street onramp. Meanwhile, a crashed McLaren sports car was also found on the bridge about a quarter mile east of the truck. It was not clarified whether the McLaren crash was connected to the big rig incident.

CHP spokesman Officer Vu Williams stated that the big rig was towed away about 2:45 p.m. However, despite being towed, a heavy backup of vehicles was still evident on Bay Bridge an hour later.

“I was just trying to wiggle through traffic, it’s just taking entirely too long, but you got pedestrians who don’t want to let the person who has the right of way to get on with their business,” driver Kevin Dean revealed.

Williams revealed that the big-rig lost control because of the wet weather. It then jackknifed and blocked three left lanes.

As a result of the collision, the big-rig driver sustained injuries and a concrete column on the bridge was minorly damaged.

Road accidents can happen anytime, anywhere, and to anyone. One small driving mistake can lead to disastrous results. That is why it is important to drive defensively and to always abide by all driving laws. This way, you can ensure your safety and the safety of surrounding vehicles, motorists, and pedestrians.
