Pedestrian in Wheelchair Killed on North Cedar Avenue

 
FRESNO, CA (April 2, 2019) – A Monday morning pedestrian accident on East Shields Avenue left a man in a wheelchair fatally injured.
 
When police arrived on the scene, they found the man dead on arrival. According to witnesses, the pedestrian in the wheelchair kept pulling in and out of the roadway until a vehicle eventually struck him.
 
Reports leading to the identity of the fatal victim was unavailable. However, police say the man had other contacts with law enforcement about being in the roadway previously.
 
Meanwhile, the driver of the vehicle that struck him stayed at the scene and cooperated with authorities.
 
Authorities at this time are investigating this case further to ascertain the ultimate cause.
