63-Year-Old Man in Wheelchair Hit and Injured by Box Truck at Sycamore Avenue and Thibodo Road

 
VISTA, CA (August 9, 2019) – A 63-year-old man suffered injuries after a box truck hit him on Sycamore Avenue, Friday evening.
 
According to the San Diego County Sheriff’s Department, the incident happened near Thibodo Road, at about 9:45 PM. A man in a motorized wheelchair attempted to cross in a marked crosswalk when a southbound 10-foot box truck hit him.
 
Emergency responders transported the victim to Palomar Medical Center with a broken leg and other moderate injuries. Meanwhile, the box truck driver remained at the scene and cooperated with investigators.
 
Authorities ruled out intoxication as a factor in the crash. Additional information will be released once it becomes available.
