1 Dead in El Cajon Pedestrian Accident on North Johnson Avenue
EL CAJON, CA (January 26, 2021) – Sunday afternoon, a man in his 40s suffered fatal injuries in a pedestrian crash on North Johnson Avenue.
The incident occurred at 5:40 p.m. in the 700 block of North Johnson Avenue, El Cajon Police Lt. Jeremiah Larson said.
“Based upon the initial investigation and evidence collected from the scene, it appears that the vehicle was traveling southbound on North Johnson Avenue approaching Arnele Avenue,” Larson said. “Prior to the vehicle reaching Arnele Avenue, a pedestrian was crossing the roadway and was struck by the vehicle.”
As a result, the pedestrian sustained significant head injuries. Meanwhile, paramedics transported the pedestrian to a hospital. Unfortunately, he later died at the hospital.
At this time, the authorities do not believe that drugs or alcohol played a role in the crash.
“We would also like to remind those who walk day or night to obey all traffic control devices, only cross the street at designated, controlled intersections and wear bright or light-colored clothing for visibility,” Larson added.
Our thoughts are with the family and friends mourning the death of the victim. We at Sweet Lawyers wish them strength and comfort during this difficult time.
