Pedestrian Fatally Struck by Bus in San Francisco

 
SAN FRANCISCO, CA (May 13, 2019) – A Golden Gate Transit bus fatally struck a pedestrian near Golden Gate Avenue and Hyde Street Saturday.
 
The incident happened in the city’s most incredibly dangerous intersection, riddled with fast traffic, abrupt turns and pedestrians.
 
The man suffered serious injuries when the bus struck him around 7 p.m. The bus driver stopped at the scene while paramedics rushed the victim to a hospital where he died subsequently after.
 
The identity of the victim has yet to be released to the public.
 
This marks the 8th pedestrian death in San Francisco this year. Supervisor Matt Haney said he hopes drivers will be forbidden to make turns while pedestrians are crossing sometime in the near future at this intersection.
 
The details surrounding where the fault lies and any other details pertaining to the crash are still under investigation.
