Fatal Pedestrian Accident in Tenaja Road near Calle Pino in Murrieta
MURRIETA, CA (September 10, 2019) — A man died in a pedestrian accident on Tenaja Road and Calle Pino in Murrieta Sunday morning.
The incident occurred at about 5:30 a.m. in the unincorporated Riverside County community of La Cresta. The California Highway Patrol said the victim may have been lying in the roadway before the vehicle hit and killed him.
Reports indicated that a Murrieta man driving a 2004 Toyota Tundra did not see the person in the roadway. According to the CHP, it was dark in the area and there was no lighting. In addition, the pedestrian was wearing dark clothing.
The driver remained at the scene and cooperated with the investigation. In addition, the officers said there were no signs that he was impaired.
On the other hand, further examination will determine whether the pedestrian was under the influence. The authorities have not released the victim’s name. However, they said he was a Murrieta resident.
