54-Year-Old Man Hospitalized After Crash on Dicker Road in Pharr

Pharr, TX (October 17, 2025) – A 54-year-old man is in critical condition after being struck in a serious auto-pedestrian crash on Dicker Road on Friday morning, according to the Pharr Police Department.

The incident occurred around 8:00 a.m. near Dicker Road and St. Marie, where a 95-year-old driver reportedly became blinded by the sun, partly due to an improperly parked vehicle that was facing the wrong direction.

Authorities say the pedestrian, a 54-year-old man, was standing behind the parked vehicle with its trunk open, retrieving items when the 95-year-old’s car collided front-end to front-end with the parked car. 

The impact pushed the parked vehicle into the pedestrian, rolling over him in the process.

Emergency responders rushed the injured man to the hospital. As of the latest update, he remains in critical condition. 

Neither individual has been publicly identified, and no charges have been filed at this time. 

However, police note the case remains under active investigation.
