6-Year-Old Boy Dies in Gonzales DUI Crash, Sarah Valdez Arrested

 
Gonzales, CA (October 27, 2020) – On Sunday, a 31-year-old man and a 6-year-old boy died while police arrested Sarah Valdez in a DUI crash on Highway 101.
 
The California Highway Patrol responded to the incident on northbound Highway 101 at 3:32 A.M.
 
Upon arrival, they found an overturned back BMW in a field alongside the highway.
 
The authorities pronounced the 31-year-old man dead at the scene, and the six-year-old boy was pronounced dead at the hospital.
 
Meanwhile, the rescuers rushed the driver, 32-year-old Sarah Valdez of Gonzalez, and an eight-year-old boy to Santa Clara Valley Medical Center. They both sustained major injuries from the incident.
 
“I hope that he recovers soon because another loss would be even more difficult for the poor parents and the whole family,” said Susana Uribe Nielsen who knows the driver, Sarah Carrillo Valdez.
 
Further, the police arrested Valdez for DUI including Gross Vehicular Manslaughter while intoxicated.
 
The authorities continue to investigate the crash.
