Suspected DUI Driver Arrested after Crash on Arrellaga and Castillo Streets

 
Santa Barbara, CA (January 10, 2021) – Police arrested a man for suspicion of DUI after hitting police vehicles in crash on Arrellaga and Castillo Streets.
 
The incident took place on January 4, Monday at about 9:10 p.m. near Arrellaga and Castillo Streets.
 
Santa Barbara Police were dispatched in the area to investigate a reported shooting incident. Then, the speeding suspected DUI driver collided with the officers’ parked vehicle on Castillo Street.
 
As a result, the officer’s parked vehicle then collided with the second vehicle.
 
Police arrested the driver for suspicion of driving under the influence.
 
Furthermore, both vehicles were unoccupied at the time of the collision.
 
Meanwhile, officers said they found evidence of the shooting however, it remains under investigation.
