Motorcyclist Dies after Suspected Hit-and-Run Crash on 57 Freeway

BREA, CA (July 31, 2019) – A man died in a motorcycle crash on 57 Freeway, Wednesday morning. Authorities withheld the identity of the 29-year-old victim, pending notification of next of kin.

According to the California Highway Patrol, the rider entered the southbound 57 freeway from Lambert Road, at about 7:00 AM. Then, he attempted to split lanes between two semi-truck trailers. His motorcycle collided with one of the trucks, and then the other ran him over.

Unfortunately, emergency responders pronounced the rider dead at the scene.

Meanwhile, the drivers of the semi-trucks did not stop to render aid. Investigators described the first truck as black and the other as green and white. It is unknown whether or not the truckers were aware of the collision. As of this moment, the deadly crash is considered a felony hit-and-run.

Authorities urged the truckers or any possible witnesses to the crash to call CHP Officer Primeaux at (714) 567-6000.
