17-Year-Old Male Dead in Mendocino County Incident on State Route 162
MENDOCINO COUNTY, CA (October 12, 2020) – Saturday night, a 17-year-old male was killed in a crash on State Route 162 near Covelo.
According to Sgt. Matt Harvey, the 17-year-old was alone and heading eastbound on State Route 162 in a red Ford F150. Then, it veered to the right while approaching the intersection.
Afterward, the vehicle collided with an iron fence and into a wooden utility pole. Moreover, the young male was ejected from the vehicle with the force of the impact.
Also, the CHP received the report at around 11:50 p.m.
Meanwhile, the 17-year-old male was pronounced dead at the scene of the incident. said Harvey.
It is still unclear if drugs or alcohol were factors to the incident.
The case is still under investigation.
