Male Pedestrian Hospitalized in Hit-and-Run Crash on Highway 68 [Monterey, CA]

Monterey, CA (October 23, 2021) – On October 21, Thursday evening, a man was sent to the hospital after a hit-and-run crash n Highway 68.

The Monterey Police says that the accident happened around 8:57 p.m. at the crossing on Highway 68 and York Road.

Moreover, authorities say that the incident started with a report of an injured deer on the roadway.

Furthermore, several people attempted to help the deer, including a motorist who attempted to cross the highway on foot.

Consequently, the motorist was struck by a westbound vehicle as he was trying to cross the westbound lane of Highway 68.

Authorities say that the impact of the crash threw the pedestrian to the opposite lane where he hit a parked vehicle.

Paramedics took the victim to Natividad Medical Center for treatment of his injuries.

Meanwhile, police say that the suspect vehicle was an early 2000’s import sedan with possible front-end damage.

Police are still conducting an investigation, looking for establishments with surveillance video of the car passing through the area.
