1 Killed in Pedestrian Accident near Dracaea Avenue in Moreno Valley

 
MORENO VALLEY, CA (April 7, 2020) – Early Sunday morning, a male pedestrian was fatally struck by a vehicle on Redlands Boulevard.
 
Officers received reports of the collision around 4:21 a.m. Dispatchers arrived to the area near Dracaea Avenue, shortly after.
 
According to the California Highway Patrol, a vehicle struck a man in his 30s who was walking in the area. However, the details leading up are currently unclear.
 
Due to the impact of the collision, the pedestrian was pronounced dead on scene.
 
Meanwhile, the involved driver remained on scene and has been cooperative with the authorities.
 
The surrounding area on Redlands Boulevard was closed down for a brief time during cleanup and preliminary duties. However, the roadway has since reopened to traffic.
 
At this time, authorities do not believe that alcohol and drugs were a factor in the fatal accident.
 
Furthermore, officers withheld the identity of the deceased due to pending family notification.
 
Due to limited information available, the investigation remains ongoing.
