RED BLUFF, CA (June 11, 2019) – Major injuries were sustained in a semi-truck crash on 5 Freeway northbound, Tuesday afternoon.
 
According to the California Highway Patrol, the collision took place at approximately 12:01 PM, near Flores Avenue. Based on an initial report, two semi-trucks were involved in the incident. As a result, both trucks jackknifed while one caught fire.
 
The paramedics arrived for needed medical attention. They confirmed that one person in the truck on fire suffered serious injuries due to the commotion. As a result, paramedics airlifted the victim to a hospital for treatment.
 
The authorities investigated the amount of damage sustained in the semi-truck crash on 5 Freeway. A Hazmat team also arrived at the scene to help in the clearing operation.
 
The cause of the collision remains unidentified.
