Major Injuries Sustained in Rollover Crash on Highway 243 [Banning, CA]

SUV Overturns in Collision near Mount Edna Road

 
BANNING, CA (December 10, 2018) – Major injuries were sustained in a rollover crash on northbound Highway 243, Monday evening.
 
According to the California Highway Patrol, the collision took place at approximately 9:31 PM, just south of Mount Edna Road. Based on their report, a solo vehicle, identified as a Toyota Land Cruiser, overturned multiple times and landed on its side at least 50 feet down an embankment.
 
An occupant of the SUV was conscious and talking when the paramedics arrived. They reported serious injuries sustained by the victim. It was not yet known if there were other injuries in the incident.
 
The highway was closed while clearing operations were performed in the area. An investigation is ongoing to determine the cause of the rollover and possible contributing factors. Additional information will be released once it becomes available.
