Four Vehicles Involved in Collision near 7th Street

SAN FRANCISCO, CA (January 1, 2019) – Major injuries were sustained in a multi-car crash on eastbound 80 Freeway, early Tuesday morning.

According to the California Highway Patrol, the collision took place at approximately 2:49 AM, just west of 7th Street. Based on their report, four vehicles were involved the incident. It was not yet determined what circumstance led to the pile-up.

The paramedics were called for needed medical attention. They confirmed that the injuries sustained in the by the motorists involved in the crash were serious.

A SigAlert was issued closing the No. 1 and 2 lanes while cleaning and clearing operations were conducted in the area. The cause of the pile-up is not yet known and additional information will be released once it becomes available. The accident remains under investigation at this time.
