CHP Investigates a Major Injury Crash on Highway 101 in Laytonville

Laytonville, CA (August 5, 2021) – Thursday afternoon, CHP investigated a major injury crash involving a semi-truck and a blue sedan on Highway 101.

The crash on Highway 101 happened at around  2:50 p.m. on August 4, just south of Laytonville.

The California Highway Patrol Traffic Incident Information Page indicated the semi-truck was over the side of the roadway.

Moreover, the front end of the semi-truck was 18 feet down an embankment and the rear of the semi was right at the end of the roadway.

It was also indicated that at least 41 gallons of diesel and four gallons of motor oil spilled in the roadway as well as an unknown amount on the dirt shoulder.

CHP also reported one person sustained injuries though the extent is still unknown at this time.

Further investigation into this crash is ongoing.
