Caltrans Contractor Injured in Oakland Pedestrian Accident on Bayview Avenue and 580 Freeway

 
OAKLAND, CA (April 15, 2021) – Wednesday morning, a hit-and-run crash on Bayview Avenue and 580 Freeway led to major injuries.
 
According to the California Highway Patrol, the officers came to the pedestrian crash scene at around 5:19 a.m. The incident occurred at the Bayview Avenue on-ramp to westbound 580 Freeway.
 
Meanwhile, the preliminary investigation revealed that a dark-colored sedan struck a Caltrans contractor. Furthermore, they noted that the crash happened as the contractor prepared to close the lanes as part of a construction crew.
 
As a result, the contractor sustained severe injuries and was airlifted to a regional trauma center. At this time, the authorities haven’t disclosed any license plate or driver description.
