AVONDALE, AZ (February 19, 2025) – Monday afternoon, Madeline Manon was arrested after a fatal pedestrian crash on 107th Avenue.

The incident happened at around 5:00 p.m. on 107th Avenue and Thomas Road.

According to the Avondale Police, a car struck an 11-year-old pedestrian.

Moreover, responders rushed the victim to a hospital where the patient, identified by his loved ones as Javier, was later pronounced dead.

Furthermore, officers confirmed that the driver of the car, identified as 35-year-old Manon, remained at the scene and was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence.

At this time, the events leading to the crash remained unclear. When additional information becomes available, the public will be notified.
