1 Detained after Sonora Three-Vehicle Accident on Highway 108 and Mono Way

 
SONORA, CA (November 22, 2021) – Friday, authorities arrested Mackenzie Steven Darr after a hit-and-run crash on Highway 108.
 
The incident involving three vehicles happened on the westbound lanes of Highway 108 Bypass ramp and lower Mono Way.
 
By 3:15 p.m., authorities Mackenzie Steven Darr for hit-and-run and suspected DUI. Darr already had a warrant out for his arrest for assault with a deadly weapon.
 
After the three-vehicle pileup, the CHO officers directed traffic for about an hour and a half on the westbound lanes of Mono Way.
 
CHP spokesperson officer Joshua McKernan confirmed that the incident happened just after 1 p.m. The suspect’s vehicle rear-ended another on the westbound lane causing a chain reaction. McKernan added, “Upon their [CHP officers] arrival on the scene, the party responsible for the crash had fled the scene on foot towards Sullivan Creek. One officer and a Sargent on the scene took chase after the suspect and apprehended the driver, a 26-year-old male.”
 
Mackenzie Steven Darr of Sonora was also wanted on a felony warrant out of Tuolumne County for assault with a deadly weapon.
