Lydia Salinas Killed, 2 Hospitalized after Fresno Car Accident on Visalia Road
FARMERSVILLE, CA – On June 26, Lydia Salinas died, and her passenger was injured in a crash on Visalia Road.
The incident occurred at around 9:12 p.m. on Visalia Road, west of Road 176. According to reports, a Honda Civic driving the wrong way crashed into a Toyota Camry, Sgt. Michael Wolfe revealed.
The impact of the crash left the Camry driver, 60-year-old Salinas, with fatal injuries.
After an investigation, the authorities suspect that the Civic driver, Delfino Santillan Comonfort, 37, was under the influence during the crash. Moreover, they confirmed that he also sustained major injuries in the crash.
According to Wolfe, “The Camry driver had picked up a passenger who could not drive home since they were drunk and did not want to drive while under the influence.” He also added that the female driver and the passenger were not wearing their seat belts during the crash. As a result, the passenger also sustained major injuries.
Responders transported Delfino Santillan and the Camry passenger to Kaweah Delta Medical Center.
Wolfe said that they expected Santillan to survive. Later, the authorities will arrest him upon release from the hospital.
