Madera County, CA (November 22, 2020) – On Thursday, 61-year-old Luis Martinez from Merced was involved in a big rig crash on Highway 152 that killed a 30-year-old Merced woman.

Moreover, the fatal crash happened at about 4:44 p.m. on Highway 152 and Road 13.

Ultimately, authorities determined the woman was driving a 2003 Infiniti southbound on Road 13 approaching a stop sign on State Route 152.

She failed to stop and went through the posted stop sign. As a result, her vehicle was struck by a 2017 Freightliner big rig moving Westbound on State Route 152.

The woman remained trapped in the vehicle, and incurred fatal injuries.

Authorities withheld her identity pending notification from next of kin.

On the other hand, Mr. Martinez, the big rig driver, did not sustain injuries in the crash.

CHP said alcohol and/or drugs may have been a factor in the deadly Madera Accident.
