71-Year-Old Luis Gonzalez Fatally Struck on North 25th Avenue [Edinburg, TX]

Edinburg, TX (October 27, 2023) – 71-year-old Luis Gonzalez was fatally struck by a vehicle on North 35th Avenue Thursday night.

It was about 9:41 p.m. when a man driving a northbound Chevrolet Silverado in the inside lane heard a loud band.

He pulled over to the side of the road and observed blood on his bumper. The driver asked the person following to check the area and they found a large pool of blood. That is when they called the authorities.

Responding officers located Luis Gonzalez in the grassy median suffering from serious injuries and died a short time later.

The authorities said Gonzalez was wearing dark clothing.

Officers are still investigating this fatal collision.
