2 Killed and Several Injured in Orondo Three-Vehicle Crash on Highway 97

 
ORONDO, WA (June 14, 2020) – Sunday afternoon, Luis Florespinzon and Luis Leveronrodriguez died in a multi-vehicle accident on Highway 97.
 
The Washington State Patrol revealed that just before 1:15 p.m., the crash occurred. The incident involved a southbound Chevrolet AstroVan driving across the centerline and a Ford F150 pickup.
 
29-year-old van driver Luis Florespinzon of Mexico and his 31-year-old passenger Luis Leveronrodiguez of Seattle both died at the scene.
 
Meanwhile, responders took six other occupants in the van to Central Washington Hospital. Meanwhile, responders also transported the two occupants of the pickup and three passengers of a GMC Sierra that crashed with the Ford pickup.
 
The crash detached both the camper towed by the Ford truck and the boat towed by the Sierra.
 
Moreover, reports revealed that among the van’s eight occupants, only two of them wore seatbelts. The driver was one of the occupants who wore a seatbelt.
 
Furthermore, the crash led to the closure of the highway for multiple hours. Thus, the police rerouted the traffic between Wenatchee and Chelan onto Highway 97A. As a result, vehicles detoured around closed Knapps Hill Tunnel.
