Driver Killed in Accident on Visalia Avenue [Lucerne Valley, CA]

Fatal Two-Vehicle Collision on Old Woman Springs Road

 
LUCERNE VALLEY, CA (March 4, 2019) – A passenger was injured and a driver was killed Friday afternoon in an accident on Visalia Avenue.
 
The accident happened around 4:30 p.m., in the 35000 block of Old Woman Springs Road. Dispatchers received calls in the area about a Hyundai Elantra colliding with a local street sweeper.
 
Witnesses say the street sweeper broadsided a southbound Hyundai traveling at high speeds, causing major damage to the four-door sedan. Arriving paramedics rendered life-saving efforts to the male driver of the Hyundai. However, he died on scene due to the impact of the collision.
 
Firefighters also requested a county helicopter to transport a second victim to Arrowhead Regional Medical Center. The second patient consequently suffered life-threatening injuries following the crash.
 
The coroner’s office will release the identity of the fatal victim once the next of kin has been notified. No further details have been made available at this time.
