37-year-old Pedestrian Louis Walton Jr. Dead in Modesto Crash on Highway 99
MODESTO, CA (June 3, 2020) – Early Monday morning, Louis Walton Jr. died in a pedestrian accident on Highway 99 near Modesto.
The incident occurred at around 4:30 a.m. on the northbound side of Highway 99 just north of Tuolumne Boulevard. 59-year-old Randy Longnecker of Modesto was driving a 2017 Hyundai at 65 mph when he hit Louis Walton Jr.
According to reports, Walton was on his hands and knees on Highway 99. The Stanislaus County Coroner’s Office determined the victim’s identity.
Meanwhile, the police haven’t revealed why Louis Walton Jr. was on the freeway.
The authorities declared the pedestrian dead at the scene. Furthermore, Randy Longnecker stayed at the scene to talk to officers and remained uninjured.
The crash remains under investigation. The police are trying to determine whether alcohol or drugs caused a fatal crash.
