LOS ANGELES, CA – Woman Dies After Crashing Into Big Rig on 5 Freeway Near Highway 14

Driver Perishes in Los Angeles Collision With Semi-Truck

 
LOS ANGELES, CA (February 20, 2019) – A Tuesday afternoon crash between a vehicle and a big rig on the 5 Freeway near Highway 14 left a motorist dead.
 
Reports came in indicating that a Mercedes-Benz rammed into the rear of a semi-truck on the 5 Freeway around 12:30 p.m. The person trapped inside the vehicle was pronounced dead on arrival. She has been described as a woman in her 30s, according to officials, yet her identity was not yet available.
 
According to reports, the woman was driving at an unknown speed when she struck a parked truck on the right shoulder as negotiated a curve on the freeway. However, the ultimate cause of this crash is under investigation.
 
Reports did say that drugs are suspected to be a factor, but an investigation of this claim is underway.
