Lorenzo Padilla Struck and Killed in Hemet Crash

 
Hemet, CA (November 1, 2020) – On Saturday, 29-year-old Lorenzo Padilla of Hemet, died in a pedestrian accident on North San Jacinto Street.
 
The Hemet accident happened at about 1:25 a.m. in the 600 block area near Taylor Street.
 
Furthermore, investigators said the victim was wearing dark clothing during the incident.
 
Additionally, he was either walking or skateboarding in the No. 2 northbound lane when a vehicle struck him while traveling in the same lane.
 
The authorities pronounced him dead at the crash scene.
 
The driver who hit Mr. Padilla with the car stopped and cooperated with authorities.
 
Moreover, investigators do not believe the driver was intoxicated. However, they do not know if the pedestrian was under the influence of drugs or alcohol.
 
Meanwhile, the authorities closed San Jacinto Street between Oakland Avenue and Menlo Avenue for about six hours.
 
This was the second fatal collision involving a pedestrian in Hemet this week.
