Lorenzo Martinez Seriously Injured in Fatal Crash on Highway 145 [FRESNO, CA]

Lorenzo Martinez Involved, Milagros Flores and Roman Flores Hurt in Fresno Crash with Big Rig

 
FRESNO, CA (July 5, 2019) – The driver of a vehicle that collided with a big rig, killing one of its passengers Friday afternoon have been identified as Lorenzo Martinez of Madera.
 
The crash happened around 1:48 p.m. on Highway 145 at Floral Avenue.
 
Martinez was driving a Dodge Durango northbound on Highway 145 with five passengers. After that, he swerved into the path of the southbound big rig.
 
The trucker attempted to avoid the SUV by changing lanes, but failed. The Durango collided with the right rear of the truck. As a result, the Durango overturned multiple times near Floral Avenue.
 
One man inside the SUV was pronounced dead at the scene. His name has not yet been released pending next of kin notification.
 
Martinez and one of his passengers suffered major injuries. In addition, two other occupants in the SUV, Milagros Flores and Roman Flores, sustained moderate injuries.
 
Paramedics transported all four injured patients to Community Regional Medical Center in unknown conditions. However, the big rig driver was not injured.
 
Investigation of this fatal crash is still ongoing.
