Police Officer Hospitalized after Car Collision in Long Beach

 
LONG BEACH, CA (February 22, 2019) – Early Thursday morning, a Torrance police officer was injured in an auto accident on the 405 Freeway near the 605 Interchange.
 
Authorities received dispatch calls about a multi-vehicle collision around 5:30 a.m. According to state officials, one police officer was struck on his motorcycle and suffering injuries when first responders arrived. As a result of the collision, the officer suffered a broken arm, per a report.
 
The northbound lanes of 405 Freeway were backed up for miles as crews worked to cleanup and finalize preliminary investigation. The leading cause of this crash is still under investigation.
