Dennis Smith and Lompoc Man Both Injured in Buellton Vehicle Crash

 
Buellton, CA (November 2, 2020) – On Saturday, 57-year-old Dennis Smith of Lompoc, and a 28-year-old man were both injured in a crash on Highway 246.
 
The incident took place at about 5 a.m. when the 28-year-old Lompoc man on a Nissan Altima was traveling westbound on Highway 246 at a fast speed. The left front of his vehicle accidentally struck a Honda Accord.
 
The impact caused the Accord, driven by Smith, to sway across the eastbound lanes. Then, it crashed with a guardrail before coming it finally rested in the traffic lanes.
 
Meanwhile, the Altima dropped on an embankment. It came to rest about 150 feet off the roadway.
 
The unidentified Altima driver sustained a broken neck. The rescuers rushed the victim by AMR ambulance to Marian Regional Medical Center in Santa Maria.
 
Authorities did not provide details on his condition.
 
Meanwhile, the authorities took Smith to Lompoc Valley Medical Center with minor injuries.
 
The CHP said it is not yet identified whether drugs or alcohol were a factor in the incident.
