1 Dead in Lompoc Pedestrian Accident on Highway 246 and Sweeney Road

 
LOMPOC, CA (September 28, 2021) – Early Sunday, a dead Lompoc man was found following a possible hit-and-run crash on Highway 246 and Sweeney Road.
 
The CHP officers responded at around 6:15 a.m. on Highway 246, west of Sweeney Road. According to reports, a body was found that may have been involved in a crash at an unknown date and time.
 
“At this time, it is unknown if a traffic collision occurred,” Officer Keith Rogers said. “The Santa Barbara County Sheriff’s Office and the California Highway Patrol are working jointly to determine the direction of the investigation.”
 
Meanwhile, the CHP revealed that the victim was a 34-year-old Lompoc man. His identity remains undisclosed due to pending family notification.
 
Also, the Lompoc police advised motorists about the closure on Highway 246 at the Robinson Bridge just east of the city.
 
Furthermore, the authorities urged anyone with information about the crash to contact the CHP’s Buellton area office at 805.688.5551.
