Lisa Miller Dead in Fresno Pedestrian Accident
FRESNO, CA (July 17, 2019) – A 15-year-old female teenager died after being hit by a car in a pedestrian accident on Willow Avenue on July 16.
It’s still unknown why Lisa Miller of San Diego walked down Willow Avenue. She walked outside of a crosswalk when a vehicle struck her near Teague.
“That’s going to be part of the investigation, trying to determine at that time, why she was crossing the road. Was it alcohol or drugs in her system? Was it something she intentionally did, or was it a tragic accident?” Fresno Police Lt. Mark Hudson said.
Lisa Miller wore a hospital bracelet and authorities are wondering if she came from any local medical centers.
The driver remained at the scene and told investigators that he attempted to avoid the crash.
“It was a Honda Pilot that the driver was driving in- again southbound on Willow Avenue. It does look like the pedestrian was at fault because they weren’t in a crosswalk. They were crossing lanes of traffic,” Lt. Hudson added.
Responders attempted to revive the girl but she suffered severe injuries and died at the scene.
