Pedestrian Ling Kong Fatally Struck in Folsom Accident

 
FOLSOM, CA (May 16, 2019) – A man suffered fatal injuries following a pedestrian crash at a Folsom intersection on Wednesday, May 15.
 
A male adult driver traveling westbound on Blue Ravine Road at Natoma Station Drive struck a man who was crossing the street. According to Police Department spokeswoman Detective Melanie Catanio, the man was crossing within a crosswalk at around 6:00 a.m.
 
The pedestrian, identified Saturday as Ling Ping Kong, 81, was pronounced dead at the scene.
 
The driver remained at the area and cooperated with authorities. Catanio said that the driver told detectives that he thought he had a green light and did not notice the man.
 
Authorities shut down the roadway during the investigation. Investigators interviewed multiple witnesses.
