JOSHUA TREE, CA (March 14, 2023) – Saturday, Linden Ralph Burke died in a pedestrian crash on Twentynine Palms Highway.

The incident happened at about 5:05 a.m. on Twentynine Palms Highway.

According to reports, a vehicle struck 81-year-old Burke of Joshua Tree. Reports revealed that Burke was walking west on the highway in the eastbound right lane.

As he walked west of White Feather Road, 43-year-old Richard Helmle driving an eastbound 2002 Chevrolet Avalanche hit him.

When the paramedics arrived at the scene, they performed CPR. However, they declared Burke dead at the scene.

Meanwhile, Richard Helmle remained at the scene and has been cooperative with the investigation.

At this time, the authorities do not believe that alcohol or drugs played a role in the crash.
