Lilyana Romero of Hoover High Dies in Suspected DUI Crash on Barstow Avenue [Fresno, CA]

Fresno, CA (September 20, 2021) – On Monday, 15-year-old girl and a Hoover High student, Lilyana Romero dies in a suspected DUI crash on Barstow Avenue.

The authorities responded to the accident scene at about 1:00 a.m. at the intersection with Millbrook Avenue.

When the authorities arrived, they found five people pinned into the back seat of the crashed Honda Civic.

Unfortunately, Romero lost her life at the accident scene.

Rescuers took two victims to a hospital in serious injuries.

Reports said the vehicle swerved across a sidewalk and struck a tree.

Meanwhile, the authorities have reviewed surveillance video of the accident and said the driver and another occupant ran from the accident scene.

The authorities later tracked down the 17-year-old suspected driver now facing felony DUI and vehicular manslaughter, while the other one is still outstanding.

Fresno Police said anyone found to have supplied alcohol to these teens could face criminal charges as well.

A GoFundMe was created to help the family with the expenses on Romero’s death.
