Leah Conner Arrested After Striking and Injuring Teen Bicyclist in Hit-and-Run Crash on 35th Avenue Near San Leandro Street

 
OAKLAND, CA (January 11, 2019) – A 14-year-old boy was seriously hurt after being struck by a hit-and-run motorist along 35th Avenue near San Leandro Street on Jan. 2.
 
The crash happened when the 14-year-old, only identified as Carlos, was struck and dragged for four blocks by a gold four-door vehicle in the 1100 block of 35th Avenue. The car finally made a stop in the 900 block of 34th Avenue where Carlos was able to free himself from the vehicle.
 
Carlos was hospitalized with broken bones and internal injuries. Although his lower lung was removed, and he has 30 broken bones in his body, he was said to survive his injuries.
 
On Tuesday, sources confirmed that 36-year-old Leah Connor was arrested on suspicion of felony hit-and-run causing injury. Authorities are also searching for a second person who might have been connected.
 
The family and friends have created a GoFundMe page for Carlos to help him recover.
