Lawrence Perez Arrested in DUI Hit-and-Run on Aviara Parkway [Carlsbad, CA]

Carlsbad, CA (March 25, 2023) On Friday afternoon, 34-year-old Lawrence Perez of Carlsbad was arrested after a hit-and-run crash on Aviara Parkway.

Carlsbad PD says that the hit-and-run collision happened at about 2 p.m. on the 6100 block of Aviara Parkway.

Reports say that Perez was driving a car that rear-ended a 77-year-old male bicyclist, then fled teh scene after the crash.

Authorities say that the bicyclist suffered serious, potentially life-threatening injuries, medics transported him to a hospital.

Meanwhile, police found Perez’s car, a damaged car matching the description of the involved vehicle, parked in an apartment complex in the 1300 block of Laurel Tree Lane.

Officials say that Perez was sitting inside the suspect vehicle. Police say that Perez showed signs of alcohol intoxication, officers arrested Lawrence Perez on suspicion of DUI and hit-and-run.
