Fountain Valley, CA (November 22, 2020) – On Saturday, 85-year-old Lavonne Perez of Fountain Valley died in a pedestrian accident in a Ralph’s parking lot.
 
The fatal crash happened at about 4:35 p.m. on 18405 Brookhurst Street.
 
Apparently, Perez was struck by a driver backing a Lexus SUV out of a parking lot.
 
Police said after striking her, the driver “subsequently drove over her.”
 
Responders rushed her to a hospital, where authorities pronounced her dead.
 
Meanwhile, the Lexus driver stayed at the scene and cooperated with the investigators.
 
Further, police identified the involved driver as a 70-year-old Fountain Valley woman.
 
Officers said neither alcohol nor drugs were a factor in the deadly crash.
 
Authorities continue to investigate the deadly Fountain Valley accident.
