Semi-Truck Accident on 5 Freeway and Leucadia Boulevard [Encinitas, CA]

Multiple Vehicles Involved in Encinitas Accident

 
ENCINITAS, CA (May 21, 2019) – Several lanes were closed after a semi-truck accident on northbound 5 Freeway, Tuesday morning.
 
According to CHP, the collision happened around 10:00 AM, just south of Leucadia Boulevard. First responders arrived to the area shortly after receiving multiple dispatch calls.
 
To begin, a semi-truck and three other vehicles were reportedly involved. In addition, the truck was found sideways in the lanes upon officers arrival.
 
The paramedics were immediately requested for needed medical attention. However, it is still currently unknown if any injuries were sustained.
 
Furthermore, multiple lanes were closed for a brief time while crews worked to clean the scene, but eventually reopened.
 
Authorities are also currently unsure whether one of the drivers was at fault. An investigation of the incident is still ongoing at this time.
