Lanes Closed after Multi-Vehicle Crash on 605 Freeway [Cerritos, CA]

Multiple Vehicles Involved in Collision near South Street

 
CERRITOS, CA (May 14, 2019) – Multiple lanes were closed after a car crash on southbound 605 Freeway, Tuesday morning.
 
According to the California Highway Patrol, the collision took place around 5:27 AM. Dispatchers arrived just north of South Street soon after.
 
Based on an initial report, a motorcyclist was down in the lanes after colliding with seven other vehicles.
 
The paramedics confirmed that the rider was able to stand up with superficial wounds. However, one person inside a Chevrolet Colorado was transported to the hospital for further treatment.
 
Furthermore, the Chevy was found with major front-end damage. The HOV, No. 1, 2 and 3 lanes were closed while rescue, clearing, and cleaning operations took place in the area.
 
The incident is still currently under investigation.
