2 Teens Injured in Lubbock Auto Accident on County Road 2800 near County Road 5700

LUBBOCK, TX (December 26, 2023) – Sunday morning, Kristi Dawn McWilliams died in a devastating single-vehicle crash on County Road 2800 near County Road 5700.

The incident happened at around 3:52 a.m. on County Road 2800, 0.07 of a mile north of County Road 5700.

According to the Texas DPS, a northbound 2015 Dodge Ram 2500 pickup swerved for still unknown reasons and partially entered the east ditch with its passenger side tires. Then, the vehicle swerved again, causing the vehicle to skid out of control across County Road 2800, crash, and roll over.

Moreover, officers confirmed that the female driver of the vehicle, identified as 44-year-old McWilliams, died in the crash. Then, paramedics transported two teen passengers, a 17-year-old male and a 17-year-old female, to UMC with unknown injuries.

At this time, the events leading to the crash remained unclear. When additional information becomes available, the public will be notified.

Due to limited information, the Texas DPS continued to investigate the crash.
