Man Struck and Killed on the 1400 Block of Delta Road
KNIGHTSEN, CA (January 17, 2018) – On Wednesday night around 7:39 PM, a 56-year-old man was killed in a pedestrian accident on the 1400 block of Delta Road, just west of Curlew Connex.
A 28-year-old male driving a 1999 Isuzu Rodeo, was traveling westbound on Delta Road around 40 mph, when it hit a man walking in the road. According to police reports, there was low visibility at that time of night, with no street lights. By the time the man saw the pedestrian, it was too late to react or avoid the man.
When the East Contra Costa Fire Protection District and AMR responded, the male victim had sustained critical injuries, and was pronounced dead on the scene.
Authorities do not believe that drugs or alcohol played a role in this fatal incident.
